World No. 2 Novak Djokovic advanced to the French Open title decider with a 6-3, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 semifinal win over No. 18 seed Ernests Gulbis and will reportedly attempt to complete a career Grand Slam when he faces Rafael Nadal in the Roland Garros final on Sunday.
Djokovic beat Gulbis in two hours and 34 minutes to set up the title decider with Nadal, who defeated Wimbledon champion Andy Murray 6-3 6-2 6-1 in one hour and 40 minutes in the semifinals.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Gulbis, who had claimed during the tournament that he has one of the best backhands and reached the semifinals knocking out Roger Federer and Tomas Berdych, struggled on his forehand as Djokovic eased to a two-set lead.
The Latvian turned things around in the third set using his backhand, but Djokovic managed to beat Gulbis in the fourth set to carry forward his winning streak towards his French Open title chase, the report added.
