World number one Novak Djokovic is all set to move one step closer to the calendar Grand Slam as he is aiming to clinch his third successive major title of the year at Wimbledon.
The 29-year-old defending champion will also be chasing his third consecutive and fourth overall Wimbledon title, having earlier won the prestigious tournament in 2011, 2014 and 2015.
Djokovic, who currently holds all four majors following his victory at French Open, is bidding to become the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to complete the Golden Slam, a feat achieved only three times in the sport's history.
With Rafael Nadal missing this year's Wimbledon due to a wrist injury and Roger Federer struggling for a major in last four years, second-ranked Andy Murray remains Djokovic's only serious contender for the upcoming tournament.
The Serbian, however, has won 13 out of his previous 15 encounters against Murray and has not been beaten by the Briton at a grand slam since the Wimbledon final in 2013, Sport24 reported.
Djokovic insisted that everything is achievable in life and, therefore, there is still a possibility of him reaching the first calendar Grand Slam since 1969.
Meanwhile, Murray, who has reunited with his former coach Ivan Lendl, will be aiming for his third overall major title after the 2012 US Open and 2013 Wimbledon title.
The Wimbledon is slated to be held from June 27 to July 10.
