Top seeds Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams are all geared up to stir conversations in southwest London as they will take on their respective challengers in the opening round of Wimbledon, which starts today.
While defending champion Novak Djokovic will face Germany's Phillip Kohlschreiber on Centre Court, Williams plays Russia's Margarita Gasparyan on Court One.
Reflecting on his opening draw against a player ranked 33 by the ATP, Djokovic said that it is one of the toughest first rounds he could get but insisted that this is a Grand Slam and it requires beating the best players in the world to keep on going, the BBC reported.
Meanwhile, fourth seed Maria Sharapova will meet Johanna Konta and French Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka will take on Portugal's Joao Sousa in their respective openers.
Andy Murray, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Petra Kvitova will be among those in action on Tuesday.
