Dolly Parton recently took the stage for a much-anticipated performance with her goddaughter Miley Cyrus on the double elimination night for the 'The Voice' season 11.
While vocal quintet 'Pentatonix' laid out their syncopated, grooving backdrop, the duo took center stage, with their dueling riffs gaining momentum as a rhythmic take on Parton's 'Jolene' progressed, reports Rolling Stone.
The 70-year-old newly anointed 'CMA Lifetime Achievement' award winner and Cyrus was supported by the sublime harmonies of the a-capella pop favorites for the song.
Collectively draped in black and dripping glitter and rhinestones, the group of seven built a deep bassline and trilling sub-melodies throughout the 1974 chart-topping classic.
Pentatonix's foot-tapping arrangement also added some new vigor, but the highlight was witnessing the palpable, familial love between Cyrus and Parton.
Earlier, the show kicked off with a duet from the 'Coat Of Many Colors' singer and Jennifer Nettles along with the top 10 artists.
Following this, America voted to save Brendan Fletcher and Sundance Head from the elimination.
'The Voice' Season 11's semifinals go down next week.
