The Samajwadi Party-led Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday revoked IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal's suspension, a day after she met with Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
On Saturday, Nagpal met Akhilesh Yadav along with her husband for the first time since she received the suspension order.
Durga Shakti Nagpal's suspension by the Samajwadi Party (SP) Government in July this year triggered nationwide outrage.
The Uttar Pradesh Government had last month ordered a probe into Nagpal's suspension.
Nagpal was suspended as the SDM on July 27, attached with the state revenue board and served a chargesheet August 4. The Uttar Pradesh Government had in its chargesheet accused Nagpal of taking a hasty administrative decision in demolishing a wall.
Commenting on Nagpal's suspension, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh had on August 6 said rules laid down would be followed in the case.
