Ed Sheeran has admitted that he owes his career to Spotify adding that his music has been streamed 860 million times, which means that it was getting out to people.
The 23-year-old singer spoke on the criticism Spotify is facing currently, asserting that he was playing sold-out gigs in South America, he had sold out arenas in Korea and south-east Asia and all this would not have been possible without music streaming, the BBC reported.
The 'Thinking Out Loud' hitmaker continued that for him, Spotify was not even a necessary evil and it helped him do what he wanted to do.
Sheeran's comments come after artists like Taylor Swift and Thom Yorke pulled their music from the streaming music site.
The Brit singer added that Spotify was charging them right amount and it was just that they could not see it.
