Ekta Kapoor's upcoming venture with Imtiaz Ali, 'Laila Majnu' which was slated to release on August 24, will now hit the big screens on September 7 this year.
The news was shared by film critic and trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, he tweeted, "New release date... #LailaMajnu, which was slated for release on 24 Aug 2018, will now release on 7 Sept 2018... Imtiaz Ali and Ekta Kapoor have also decided to launch the trailer later [was supposed to launch tomorrow]... Directed by Sajid Ali..."
He also shared a fresh poster with the new release date in which lead actors Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri, look happy in love as they pose holding each other, with the backdrop of a hailstorm.
A classic folklore, the story is based on two lovers facing the challenges of the society of their times.
The film which is a modern take on the legendary love story is written and directed by Sajid Ali.
