ABC News anchor Elizabeth Vargas' husband Marc Cohn, has blamed the 'long-standing issues' in their marriage as his excuse for cheating on her.
According to the New York Post, it was during the time when the 51-year-old American journalist was in rehab for alcohol addiction, that her songwriter husband was having an affair with Ruth Zukerman, co-founder of Flywheel.
The 'Walking in Memphis' songwriter told People magazine that he won't be commenting on what is an extremely sensitive and private family matter, for addiction and recovery are serious challenges and it's been a tough road for everyone.
He added that he's always been supportive of Vargas in the past, and will continue to be, regardless of the long-standing issues in their relationship.
