Emotions on display at 'Colorothon Season 3'

Creativity and innovation took centre-stage as people dipped themselves in colors to express their feelings and emotions.

Imagination came alive on paper, as thousands gathered at Connaught Place's Central Park over the weekend to participate in 'Colorothon Season 3'.

The zeal and enthusiasm among people was fabulous, and the participation of a physically challenged person, who drew with just two fingers, added true colour to the event.

The event which began at 7 a.m., saw crowds pouring in even before the arena was open for participation.

The Raahgiri crowd skipped their regular activities to make a splash on the 'Draw your Imaginations'.

Colorothon's unique concept of 'Breathe Entertainment' had a lot of takers in a very nice ambience of colourful people, drawings, paintings, colors, balloons, laughter and cheer.

The event that was organised in collaboration with MaStyle Care, an NGO that carries out events on social issues every month.

It saw the participation of around 25 renowned artists from the Lalit Kala Academy, who painted live on canvas.

"It was an outstanding experience to watch 10,000 people painting live and enjoying art," said Latika Wadhwa, the founder of MaStyle Care.

She promised to bring many such events in the near future as well.

The 300 best paintings of the event will be donated to charity partner - CRY - and a few others will be auctioned to raise funds for their cause.

Jeffrey Iqbal of 'Raw Star' fame was the star attraction at Sunday's event that was inaugurated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi.

To pump up the participants' mood, a group of djembes players under the name of 'Noida Hand Drummers' entertained the crowd with their melodious tunes.

"Colorothon was an amazing experience for us drummers, as it was for a cause and we had a great audience who responded to our beats and got involved and danced," said Dillip Magee, the founder of 'Noida Hand Drummers'.

"It is nice to be a part of this event," he added.

The people from different organizations, schools and NGOs participated and enjoyed the event where music band 'Parallel to the Beach' also performed.

A group of young and dynamic performing artists working under the umbrella of 'TALENT'- Team and Association in Learning Education and Natural Theatre, thrilled the audience with the ancient form of story-telling 'Kissa-Goi'.

"Colorothon will tour other cities such as Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Guwahati in the near future and a day will come that the entire country will paint one day simultaneously to mark as Colorothon Day," said Kishore Joseph, Director of Breathe Entertainment.

The third successful season of 'Colorothon Delhi 2014' was also an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of Records for the largest number of people drawing on one platform.

The entire concept of Colorothon is the celebration of art wherein the whole family ranging from the age group of 3-80 years come and paint together.
