England crushed New Zealand by 56 runs in the one-off Twenty20 international at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Replying to England's score of 191 for the loss of seven wickets, the Kiwis were bowled out for 135 in 16.2 overs.
England had Joe Root to thank for its match-winning total. He scored 68 and was ably assisted by Jason Roy, Alex Hales and Ben Stokes, all of whom played small cameos, reports the BBC.
For the Kiwis, skipper Brendon McCullum bludgeoned 35 from 15 balls, and at one stage, New Zealand were well set at 82-2 off eight overs. But then, they lost three quick wickets for 12 runs in 11 balls and the remaining five wickets for a paltry four runs, to be bowled out for 135. Kane Williamson chipped in with 57.
In an entertaining contest provided a fitting finale to New Zealand's thrilling tour, that included a drawn Test series, a 3-2 one-day series victory for England, and a Twenty20 win for the hosts.
