England trio to officiate Ireland's inaugural Test

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named three former England players who will officiate Ireland's inaugural Test match to be held against Pakistan.

Former opener Chris Broad, former spinner Richard Illingworth and former first-class cricketer Nigel Llong have been roped in as on-field umpires for the historic Test match.

Broad--one of the senior most match referees-- was selected at the post by the world's cricket governing body in 2003 and, now he will be officiating his 94th Test in the forthcoming match.

Illingworth, the last player to be dismissed when England won the 1992 World Cup final match against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), will take charge of his 33rd Test during Ireland's inaugural Test.

Meanwhile, Llong will be supervising for the 52nd time, the Dawn reported.

The ICC, however, has not appointed any TV umpire from its panels, with senior Irish umpire Mark Hawthorne likely to be called in by home board - Cricket Ireland.

Ireland are slated to play their inaugural lone Test against Pakistan from May 11.
