Despite going down one-nil in the four-match Test series against Pakistan, England wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow is confident his side will not panic even if they end up losing the second match as well, beginning at the Old Trafford from Friday.
Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah was adjudged Man of the Match for taking a total of 10 wickets across two innings as England went on to suffer a 75-run defeat in the opening Test at Lord's.
Talking about their upcoming match, Bairstow said that his side would remain calm even though they lose the second match as they would still have two more games to turn the things in their favour, the Express Tribune reported.
The 26-year-old wicketkeeper, however, called on the hosts to express themselves fully against Pakistan and set the record straight in the second Test.
Downplaying the threat of Yasir, Bairstow insisted England had handed the Pakistani leg-spinner with some soft wickets in the opening match, but said they are now looking forward to rise to the occasion by countering the challenge.
Keeping the importance of second match in mind, England had brought in pacer James Anderson, spinner Adil Rashid and all-rounder Ben Stokes into an expanded 14-man squad for the Old Trafford Test.
