Former Wales and Sheffield United striker Ched Evans' rape victim's father has revealed that his daughter has had to change her name and move house five times after she was targeted by Twitter trolls.
The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was reportedly unable to spend Christmas with her family or even exchange presents with them. She has been the target of malicious Twitter trolls who have exposed her new identity and harassed her online.
Her father said that the woman worked over the Christmas period to take her mind off her tormentors, who are believed to be supporters of the fallen football star, the Daily Star reported.
The victim's father, who also cannot be named to protect his daughter, said that it is the fifth time she's had to move in under three years, adding that she is just living her life on the run.
Her father claimed that he couldn't even see her over Christmas because it's too risky for her to visit him, adding that he hasn't been able to give her the Christmas presents he bought her.
The victim's father claimed that the last time he saw her was almost a year ago, and it's been hard not having her at home over Christmas, adding that he just wants her near him so he can protect her.
Evans was jailed in April 2012 for raping the woman in a hotel room in Rhyl, North Wales. The former Sheffield striker denied rape, saying that the sex was consensual, but was found guilty by a jury at Caernarfon Crown Court.
After his release in October, Evans released a video on his website protesting his innocence and vowing to clear his name, the report added.
