Former South Africa opener Sid O'Linn recently passed away at the age of 89 in Cape Town.
Expressing sadness over the demise of O'Linn, CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat said, "On behalf of the CSA Family I extend our deepest condolences to his family, his friends and his cricketing colleagues."
The former left-handed batsman and stand-in wicketkeeper represented South Africa in seven Tests against England and New Zealand between 1960 and 1962, Sport24 reported.
O'Linn made his debut during the South African Test tour of England in 1960, after a season in which he scored 619 runs at 68.78 for Transvaal. On the tour, he scored his best of 98 in the third match at Trent Bridge.
O'Linn, who appeared in 92 first-class matches and scored 4525 runs at an average of 35.62, had also extended his skills beyond the cricketing field by playing top-flight football for Charlton Athletic, and even earning an international soccer cap for South Africa in 1947.
