Tibetans in-exile held a mass prayer in Dharamsala to express solidarity with two monks, who had died recently from self immolation in protest against Chinese rule in Tibet.
The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) held the session during which thousands of people, including monks, nuns, school children, Tibetan officials in-exile gathered at the main Buddhist temple, Tsuglagkhang and offered prayers for all those Tibetans who sacrificed their lives to protest repressive policies of the Chinese Government.
During the prayer service, Tibetan Prime Minister in-exile Lobsang Sangay addressed the gathering and expressed his concern over the crisis in Tibet. He said they were offering prayers for Jigme Tenzin and Lobsang Palden who lost their lives in protest.
The number of Tibetans who set themselves on fire to protest against the Chinese government's repressive rule has risen to 128, out of which 111 have died. The self-immolators have called for the return of the Dalai Lama to Tibet and freedom for Tibetans.
More than 100 Tibetans have set themselves alight in protest against Chinese rule since 2009.
