The Thane Court on Tuesday has extended police custody for underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's brother Iqbal Kaskar and two other till October 14 in connection with an extortion case.
On October 3, they were booked for a new extortion case in Thane.
Earlier in the week, Kaskar and his aide were sent to judicial custody till October 13 by the Thane Court in regards to the same case.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) commenced investigating Kaskar, his aides Israr Z Saiyyad and Mumtaz A Shaikh and others on September 26.
Kaskar was arrested on September 18 on the charges of extortion from his Mumbai residence after a complaint was filed by a builder, who was facing threats since 2013.
The builder was taken into confidence and a complaint of extortion was registered at the Kasarvadavali Police Station.
It is unclear as of now if Dawood was involved personally in his brother's extortion rackets or not.
