In a bid to make Facebook ads smarter, the social networking site has announced Product Ads, that lets companies target Facebook users more effectively with new automated processes by convincing famous personalities to like something so the users will follow their lead.
According to Mashable, the Product Ads feature will allow businesses to target 1.4 billion or so Facebook users more effectively.
Facebook automatically targets users with ads based on their interests, general locations and whether the users have already visited the advertiser's site.
The new feature requires Facebook to watch the rate at which a piece of content is shared and then figure out the users who led to its sudden increase in share rate.
Facebook would then target those people with ads and presumably charge businesses a boatload to reach them.
