Facebook and Apple have reportedly said that they have decided to provide coverage to female employees who wish to delay childbearing by freezing their eggs.
The companies have vowed to cover costs up to 20,000 dollars for the procedure and annual storage costs in order to help them delay parenthood which could affect their careers, reported News 24.
While Facebook recently began covering the costs of egg freezing, Apple is set to follow soon in January.
The move comes as tech firms are facing renewed pressure over increasing the diversity of the workplace in a male-dominated sector.
Facebook and Apple have refused to comment.
