J.K. Rowling's 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' adaptation will be filmed at the same studio where all Harry Potter movies had been shot.
Warner Bros. reportedly confirmed the news, which was announced by U.K. culture secretary Sajid Javid, that the studio's Leavesden facility will play home to the 'Harry Potter' spinoff, the Mirror reported.
Rowling will be debuting as a screenplay writer for the fantasy film, which is set in 1920's New York and will feature explorer Newt Scamander, the author of the fictional book which is mentioned in the syllabus of the wizards in 'Harry Potter.'
The studio, who acquired the Leavesden property only few years ago, plan to expand the property with "new state-of-the-art stages" and 100,000 sq. ft. of office space.
The movie, which will be the first film in the trilogy, is anticipated to release in 2016.
