World number two Roger Federer was on Tuesday knocked out of the French Open quarterfinals by his compatriot Stan Wawrinka.
Wawrinka defeated Federer 6-4 6-3 7-6 (7-4) to advance to the semi-final, the BBC reported.
Wawrinka will either face Japan's Kei Nishikori or Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
