Female directors to oversee Captain Marvel?

Seems like Captain Marvel is preparing to take a big step forward with roping in female filmmakers to take the franchise forward.

Following the announcement that Brie Larson is first choice to play the superhero, a new report says Niki Caro and Jennifer Kent are among the directors being eyed for the gig, reports the Independent.

Both are independent directors who have received critical acclaim with a particular film- Caro with 2002- New Zealand family film 'Whale Rider' and Kent with her 2014 Australian horror debut 'The Babadook.
