Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has said that he would like to stay at Manchester United as long as his body allowed him to keep playing, and revealed that he once fell in love with the Old Trafford club, as he prepares for his testimonial against Sevilla on Friday.
According to the Mirror, Ferdinand has signed a new one-year contract, which includes the option of a further 12 months and says he is enjoying his football now more than ever.
The defender said that when he looked at the picture and towards the testimonial, it evoked old memories and relit those fires a little bit in terms of being able to win things, getting the emotions back.
He said that he thought he would be at United for a couple of years, maybe three or four, and then go abroad somewhere but fell in love with the club, with winning and with the history of the club, adding that being part of it was something he could never have imagined.
