Former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson believes that goalkeeper David De Gea has the match winning potential that can lead the Old Trafford club to the Premier League title this year.
The Spaniard completed a shocking turnaround by signing a new four-year deal at United after seeing his dream move to Real Madrid fall apart on transfer deadline day earlier this month.
Ferguson, who coached United for 26 years, said that De Gea could win them the league and insisted that if United maintain the same position on New Year's Day then they stand a chance of winning the title, the Daily Star reported.
United climbed to the second spot in the Premier league table after defeating Southampton 3-2 last week.
Meanwhile, league pace-setters Manchester City suffered their first defeat of the season after losing a home game against West Ham 1-2.
