Australian batsman David Warner, who was suspended for punching England player Joe Root in a Birmingham bar earlier, continued his saga of exchanging blows with the young batsman when he hooked a catch to his rival after getting 41 runs.

According to the Mirror, Warner revealed that although he was not very well liked at the moment, he had an entertaining morning on the field and it was quite comical that out of all the people in the field, he had given his catch to Root.

The player also said that when he went to bat, Root had told him that it had been a long couple of months, to which he had replied that he had a long memory, so it was okay.

Warner has been booed by the England faithful every time he has even moved near the ball, but he has taken all the abuse that has flown his way in good humour, even doing a spot of shadow boxing on the boundary, the report said.

The batsman said that it was not every day that one walks on the field and gets booed but it is better to embrace it and know what the job ahead is, adding that he was just wanting to get a win on the board for Australia, after they lost six Tests in a row and hoping to win the series 3-2.
