Finch says change in batting technique helped revive international career

Australian batsman Aaron Finch has revealed that his international career has been revived with a change in his batting approach.

According to News.com.au, the opener scored an impressive, world-record 156 from only 63 balls in the first Twenty20 clash against England before smashing 148 in the 200-run thrashing of Scotland on Tuesday.

The report said that Finch struggled after being handed his international debut in January, and averaged only 15 against Sri Lanka and West Indies with a top score of 38.

However, the player now hopes to build on his impressive recent form and firm his place at the top of the order in the absence of the dropped David Warner and indicated that a change in his batting technique has helped to revive his international career.

According to Finch, the last time he played for Australia, he might have tried to bat a little more like how he thought he should be batting rather than backing his game and whatever got him picked for the side in the first place, adding that he is now mindful of playing his natural game, with instinct and not to be afraid of the outcomes.

Finch also said that he is confident that the technique he has got now will work for a long time, adding that he hopes to establish himself as a regular for Australia by getting big scores in the five-game ODI series against England.
