Finland's men's ice hockey team has beaten their United States counterparts 5-0 at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, taking away the Americans' only chance of winning the bronze medal.
The defeat comes after the Canadian ice hockey team (both men and women) beat their US counterparts in the final clash at Sochi and took away the gold and silver for the events.
According to The Guardian, although American ice hockey player Patrick Kane was handed two penalty shots in the bronze medal game, he however, failed to score on either and added further discouragement and dispirit to his team.
Finland proved once again they had put together a very strong team for the Olympics by keeping the US offense at bay, using a frustrating defensive style to quash the Americans into submission, the report added.
