After American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr won his fight over Mexican Saul Canelo Alvarez in a rather easy fashion, the end of the boxer's career is in sight, because even the best fighter cannot beat the force of time, a report has claimed.
According to stuff.co.nz, Mayweather will be 38 and another 150 million-dollars or so richer when his lucrative contract with Showtime ends, and by then even the fighter raised from birth to be in the ring will likely have had his fill.
The only real question remains if someone could give him a legitimate fight, the report said.
Mayweather said that he did not know what the future held for him, as he was not a psychic, adding that he had only 24 months left and then Canelo would be the man.
However, fighters can be their own worst enemies when it comes time to calling it quits, and Mayweather by then would likely be 49-0 and one fight away from breaking the unbeaten mark set by Rocky Marciano before he retired, the report added.
