Stalls were swarmed with visitors and different artistic and fancy items on display lured many visitors in Nepal's capital Kathmandu.
A visitor, Asmika Guragain, was among the ones who got impressed with the showcased items.
"I really had a good time here. I bought this earrings and I also have one in my bag. Actually the India-Nepal Folk Crafts Festival has trade accessibility for Nepal. It actually helps in maintaining good trade relations between Nepal and India," Asmika said, in a conversation with ANI.
The five-day festival, which showcases Nepali and Indian folk cultures and architecture is organised by the South Asia Foundation in co-ordination with different Nepali and Indian agencies. The core objective of the festival is to promote the bilateral relations through crafts and enhance relationship between artisans of the two countries through crafts and cultural exchange programmes.
"I would like to thank the Government of Nepal for granting us this chance and come upto here. We are feeling great after coming here and we are very excited for getting your support," Mrigacchi, an exhibitor from India, said.
The ongoing festival in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu has more than 80 thematic pavillions with focus on folk crafts of India and Nepal. A total of 50 artisans, including 30 from various parts of Nepal, are showcasing their crafts during the event.
