Former Maharashtra chief minister A.R. Antulay breathed his last on Tuesday after battling a prolonged illness.

Antulay, 85, was the first Muslim chief minister of Maharashtra, serving his term from 1980-82.

Later, he was named union minister of health and family welfare and served as the union minister for ministry of minority affairs under the then-prime minister Manmohan Singh's government.
