Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has said that it is batting that holds the key to Pakistan's success in the ICC Champions Trophy.
After reviewing Pakistan's batsmen show against Scotland and Ireland in the ODIs, Latif said that batting may be the problem for Misbahul Haq and his team in the Champions Trophy.
The Daily Times quoted Latif, as saying that Scotland and Ireland are not very highly rated teams, but even against them Pakistan's top batsmen did not perform well. He said Pakistan's batting lacks consistency.
He said that the Champions Trophy would be very tough and competitive with world's best eight teams in action. But batsmen like Hafeez, Asad, Misbah and Kamran are not performing up to the expectations, he added.
He rated Pakistan pace-cum-spin attack quite formidable and expressed the hope that may put their opponents under pressure.
