At least four people were killed and eight others injured when the Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani express derailed this morning at around 2.15 am near Chhapra.

One of the passengers, Anil, said that there was a loud explosion after which he looked for his brother and sister-in-law who had also suffered concussions in the incident.

He also said that his wife was still trapped in the train compartment and was yet to be rescued.haratiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy, who reached the spot, told ANI, "About nine train compartments had derailed and the accident was quite horrific, adding, "About four people had died and eight-nine people were injured."

He said, "The incident, which took place at about 2- 2:15 am, after the train had crossed Chhapra Junction, was an unusual one. Only after an investigation can it be revealed whether it was a sabotage or an accident."

He said, "Railway officials reached the spot quickly and helped with the evacuation, adding "Whatever the government can do, it is trying to do.
