Jharkhand Police have recovered and defused four improvised explosive devices in Lohardaga district.
"The police recovered the explosives hidden in a community centre on the basis of intelligence inputs," Superintendent of Police (SP) Manoj Ratan told the media here yesterday.
"We recovered four IEDs, each weighing six kilograms. We have destroyed all the four IED by defusing them," he added.
The Superintendent of Police further said the Maoists had planted the explosives to cause large-scale damage.
"I think if the explosives had exploded it would have caused severe damage to the forces or the common people," he added.
The Maoists are said to be India's greatest internal security threat.
