Patna, Oct.29 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday said he has been inspired by the principles of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, and freedom fighters and socialists like Ram Manohar Lohia and Jayaprakash Narayan and added that he considers them as his role models.
"If you ask my role model, it is none other than Mahatma Gandhi, Lohia and Jayaprakash Narayan. I am inspired by their principles, and today whatever I have done in Bihar is based on their principles," Nitish told ANI in an exclusive interview.
"Since I was a student, I read about everyone, but, there was a great impact of Lohia ji in my life. When I talk of Lohia ji, then J.P. and Mahatma Gandhi are also included. I have heard and listened to Lohia ji only once after I passed my matric. He left us in 1967 and the 1974 movement took place under Jayaprakash Narayan. So, we learnt a lot by just listening to them and sitting next to them," Nitish added.
