The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation has announced an aid of $7 lakh for the flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir.
The announcement was made by Bill Gates, the co- chairman of the foundation, on Friday.
Bill Gates yesterday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Nitin Gadkari.
He also met Minister for Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh. Earlier on Thursday, Gates met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and attended the inauguration ceremony of the Indian Newborn Action Plan (INAP) by Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan.
Jammu and Kashmir has been hit by the worst-ever floods which have wreaked havoc in several districts and left 280 people dead.
