Former President George W. Bush has said President Barack Obama should not be criticized for the amount of golf he plays.

Bush hit back at conservatives, who have criticized Obama for his frequent golf outings, saying it's good for the leader of the free world to have some down time every once in a while.

According to the Washington Times, the 67-year-old Republican told Jimmy Roberts, host of the Golf Channel's 'In Play', that Obama is being criticized for playing golf, but why, he asked.

He said that it was good for the president to play golf, agreeing that it's a good release of stress.
