A majority of MPs from Germany are likely to vote in favour of the third Greek bailout on Wednesday.

According to the BBC, the vote is expected to face opposition by German Chancellor Angela Merkel's centre-right alliance.

Some MPs suspect that the deal could lead to part of Greece's large debt being written off, with European Union taxpayers having to foot the bill.

Last month 65 Christian Democrats (CDU)/ Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU) politicians refused to support even starting negotiations for a third bailout.
