Germany has reportedly decided to drop a probe into alleged tapping of Chancellor Angela Merkel's phone by American spies due to lack of evidence.
The experts have failed to find any solid evidence to back the case and therefore, have recommended that it be dropped, reported News 24.
After documents leaked by whistleblower and former U.S. intelligence contractor, Edward Snowden, showed rampant spying on German citizens' telephones and internet exchanges, German justice had ordered a probe into the allegations in June.
