The makers of 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' have roped in five-time National Award winning lyricist Javed Akhtar as the narrator for the film.
The legendary lyricist Akhtar will be seen as a 'sutradhar' (narrator) in Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao starrer 'Bareilly ki Barfi', who are working together for the first time onscreen.
Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, director of the film, shared, "We wanted a narrator who is not just a voice over but a key character through the film, someone who is an integral part of the 'pagal' Mishra family."
She further said, "In any small town where houses are closely stuck, everybody is a part of the family and knows exactly what's happening in whose house. So the 'sutradhar' in our film is a neighbour, who has been a witness to the Mishras interesting journey".
Juno Chopra, the debutant creative Producer also shared, "The narrator had to be someone who enriches the story with dollops of humour with his understanding of language, intonations, and expressions. Who better than Javed sir".
Juno Chopra, was instrumental in bringing Javed Akhtar on board to which he shared, "When dad (late filmmaker Ravi Chopra) was directing Baghban, he asked Javed sir to help with the climax and even after all these years, it's the most poetic finale. Fifteen years later, I got Javed sir on board again and life has come a full circle".
Ever since the trailer has released 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' has garnered immense anticipation as the film has a power packed star cast and storyline and is touted as the tastiest entertainer of the year.
Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, 'Dangal' director Nitesh Tiwari, Rajkummar Rao with Javed Akhtar in the team, there are so many National award winners related to the film.
The collaborative effort between Ashiwny Iyer Tiwari, Juno Chopra and Nitesh Tiwari and Shreyas Jain can be easily witnessed through this film.
Nitesh Tiwari and Shreyas Jain contributed to a power packed script; Juno Chopra spearheaded execution while Ashiwny Iyer Tiwari captured perfect frames.
'Bareilly Ki Barfi' is produced by Junglee Pictures and BR Studios, Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and is scheduled to release on August 18.
