Girish Shankar assumes charge as Secretary of Department of Official Languages
Girish Shankar took charge as Secretary, Department of Official Languages, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, on Thursday.
A 1982 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, Shankar was earlier working as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism.
He replaces Sanjay Kumar Srivastava who has joined as Secretary, Coordination and Public Grievances at the Cabinet Secretariat.
