Glenn Close has recently revealed that she was raised in a religious cult known as the Moral Re-Armament as a child.
The 67-year-old actress said that they were made to feel guilty about any unnatural desire and people in the group used to dictate how others should live their life, E! Online reported.
It was her father, Dr. William Taliaferro Close, who first joined the cult. Unfortunately, it wasn't until Close enrolled at the College of William and Mary when she could escape.
The 'Anesthesia' star believes that her success was attributed to her ability to forgive the cult, which fortunately never tried to lure her back although it prevented her from experiencing a normal childhood.
