Google integrates watch faces, built in Google Translate to Android Wear

Google has released an update for Android Wear which will integrate watch faces and Google Translate.

Google is about to make your Android Wear watches a lot more useful with interactive watch faces and Google Translate integration.

According to the Tech Crunch, the users will now able to install interactive watch faces that will allow them to pull up more information and launch apps with a tap right from the watch face.

Also in this update is a built-in support for Google Translate which will work even if the users do not have Google Translate on their phone.

Google Translate on Android Wear supports 44 languages and works with the built-in microphone in the users watch. They have to simply speak into the watch and flip their wrist, which will show them the translation. Translate will automatically recognize what languages are being spoken.

For the new watch faces, Google already worked with a number of developers to test this new functionality.

One watch face called Bits shows small circles with the number of unread emails, local temperature, date and other information around the center of the screen. When the users tap on any of these the watch face changes and brings these circles into focus.

The Under Armour watch face is an interactive fitness-centric watch face which will show info like step count, calories burned and distance traveled.

The Together watch face allows the users to share photos and emojis with their partners.

The Google Play store currently features just over 20 interactive watch faces.

This update to Android Wear is now rolling out as an over-the-air update to all Android Wear watches except to my Moto 360. This update also brings Wi-Fi support to the LG G Watch R.
