Google has reportedly launched a toolset for developers that will let them port their apps to iOS and Android.

The tool is capable of porting the necessary Chrome APIs like notifications and access to local storage, required by web apps on mobile.

The company has used the open source Apache Cordova toolchain to develop a compatibility layer that allows programmer to wrap their apps in a native app shell and distribute the app on the App and Google Play stores, the Verge reported.

Google is currently previewing its toolset too see if any improvements can be made to it.
