'Government to be tough against crime in name of freedom'

Nepal Government spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Gokul Prasad Baskota, has said the government will be tougher against incidents of crime happening in name of freedom.

Addressing the anniversary celebrations of the Sarbamangala Multiple Campus based in Panchakhal municipality-3 in Kavrepalanchwok on Saturday, he said, "We will come up with stringent measures against criminal activities expressing and promoting vulgarity taking place in the name of exercising freedom. Such practices will not be accepted under any circumstances."

"The government has planned to close vulgar internet sites bearing in mind the situation when daughters are not safe even inside homes," he added.

He went on to say that the government was committed to materialising the dream of happy Nepaliand, a prosperous Nepal. Some projects of government priority including the power production, airport construction, mono and metro rail and special economic zone have been started and it would take time to complete them. As shared by the government spokesperson, community schools will be switched to a computerized system as per the plan of a digital Nepal.
