The government, which today dropped Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra's name from the 'No-Frisk' list, said that he was never a VIP.

"Vadra went ahead and posted on his Facebook page that he wanted to be removed from the list, what choice did the government have after that? But he should have written us a formal letter rather than publishing his demand publically," Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma told ANI.

Taking a jibe at Vadra, Sharma said he did not know what the fuss was all about as the former had never been a VIP in the first place.

He further said that Vadra was on the 'No-Frisk' list only when he was travelling with the Gandhi family and never individually.

"There have also been instances when Vadra misused this facility," Sharma added.

Vadra had earlier taken to Facebook to target the Centre over the VIP 'No-Frisk' list.

"Plan to visit every terminal in the Airports in India and add a white tape on my name from the VVIP list and my signature on top !! So look out," Robert Vadra wrote in his status message.
