Government and industry leaders on Monday are scheduled to make collective presentations before Prime Minister Narendra Modi on sector-specific strategies in order to push manufacturing as part of the 'Make in India' programme.
A day-long workshop has been organized in the national capital in this regard. It is likely to be attended by Union Ministers including Arun Jaitley and Nirmala Sitharaman and industry leaders from sectors like oil and gas, automobile and aviation besides state government representatives.
During the workshop, 18 sessions will be held on different sectors. A separate session will be conducted with state chief secretaries and principal industry secretaries on improving ease of doing business.
Earlier in September this year, Prime Minister Modi had launched the 'Make in India' campaign to attract foreign investors and make the country a global manufacturing hub.
