Govt trying its best to ensure abducted Indians' return, says Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal landed in Delhi as the abduction of Indian boys was confirmed and assured that the government was trying its best to save the stranded boys.

He also met the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and informed that she is also in touch in PM Narendra Modi regarding the boys' safety.

Badal said that according to available information, the boys were not safe but he was praying for their return. He said, "I met Sushma Swaraj at her house. I pray to god that they come back home safely and whatever we can do we are trying so that they can come back. Punjab is highly worried for them."

Meanwhile, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal also said that the PM and Exernal Affairs Minister have been monitoring information and are trying to get all possible information.

She said, "State government has asked Deputy Commissioners to find out the addresses of the all the people who are stranded so that any information that comes can be passed on to the government."

It was confirmed yesterday that 40 Indian workers have been abducted by the ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant) with the government saying that they were working with humanitarian organizations and were in contact with International Red Crescent and Iraqi government.
