The star cast of 'Grey's Anatomy' has opened up for the first time after the controversial exit of Patrick Dempsey from the show.
Kelly McCreary told E! Online that Derek was a beloved character on the show and they will miss that character and they will miss the love story between him and Meredith.
McCreary continued that they were really looking forward to seeing how the character of Meredith grows and changes and transforms and how all the doctors in the hospital react to a core member of their team being lost.
Sarah Drew told the entertainment website that they were sad to say goodbye to Patrick but they were so happy for him adding that Dempsey was enjoying time with his kids and he was racing and having a ball.
Fans were left heartbroken after the onscreen death of character McDreamy.
