The Washington Post citing local media said the bloodshed "sparked fears of renewed unrest in the south, where separatists have sought independence for more than 30 years in the West African nation."
The Senegalese military confirmed the deaths in the Saturday's attack.
The Separatist group, however, is yet to claim responsibility for the attack, said local media.
