Guwahati promotes martial arts training for girls

Keeping in mind the importance of self defense, a Guwahati based NGO, "Nari Artha Samajai Samity", has been conducting a free six month-long martial arts training programme.

It aims to uplift women, especially the ones from economically backward class.

The training that started in May will continue till November.

The participants are mostly kids in the age group of 5-18, and a majority of them are Muslims.
