Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton edged past team-mate Nico Rosberg to emerge as the fastest driver in the first practice session for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza on Friday.
Hamilton posted the fastest lap of one minute and 24.670secs to finish almost half a second clear of his Mercedes team-mate Rosberg, the Guardian reported.
Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari finished third ahead of Nico Hulkenberg, who recently signed a new two-year deal with Force India.
Meanwhile, tyre manufacturers Pirelli are under the spotlight in Italy following the blow-out row at the Belgian Grand Prix.
Hamilton leads the Drivers' championship standings by 28 points after claiming his sixth win of the season at Spa.
